Indoor golf prices by canton: what an hour costs in Zurich, Ticino and Vaud — post image

An hour of indoor golf costs a median of CHF 50 per bay in Switzerland. Among the ten cantons with at least three prices, the median is CHF 60 in Zurich and Zug and CHF 35 in Ticino. This post shows the lowest, the middle and the highest hourly price for these cantons, and what the numbers do not tell you.

Where the numbers come from

On 2 October 2026 I read the entries of the 110 indoor venues in the directory. 80 of them state a clear hourly price, between CHF 25 and 99. I worked with the rule of the price page: for each venue the lowest amount the entry gives for one hour counts. For "CHF 50 to 75" that is CHF 50, for "from CHF 60" it is CHF 60. A session of 50, 55 or 60 minutes counts as an hour.

30 venues drop out of the calculation. Some state no price or only lesson and subscription prices. Others state a member, subscription or 30-minute price next to the hourly one, and the rule does not read such lines. They include Alpine Golf in Verbier with CHF 100 for up to two people, the Birdie Amigos Golf Club in Basel and DomaGolf in Geneva with CHF 70 each. The table is therefore a cautious approximation, not a complete picture. I read four entries on the venues' own pages: L'Indoor Geneva, RUFF Bern, Millennium in Crissier and All Out Golf. They match the directory.

The table: ten cantons compared

The median is the middle value: half of the venues state less, half more. The table is ordered by median. It covers only cantons with at least three venues that state an hourly price. The highest value is the highest entry price of a venue, not the highest price a venue ever charges.

Zurich has the most prices with 18 venues and the highest median, together with Zug. Ticino is CHF 15 below the Swiss median at CHF 35, Aargau CHF 5 below at CHF 45. With three or four venues, a single one moves the median. In Ticino the four values are CHF 30, 30, 40 and 70. Without the venue in Lugano at CHF 70 the median would be CHF 30. One of the two Ticino venues with CHF 30 states the price without VAT.

Why a canton is only half the answer

There is a lot of room inside a canton. In Zurich the entry prices run from CHF 35 to CHF 79, in Vaud from CHF 30 to CHF 99. The CHF 99 belongs to Millennium in Crissier. Its page states CHF 79 per hour "au lieu de" CHF 99 (Millennium). One entry in Yverdon states a summer rate of CHF 30 until 1 October 2026. Without it the median in Vaud stays at CHF 50.

Then there are chains that do not set their price by canton. The three Earlybirdie sites in Aarau, Baden and Chur all state CHF 45. The four Swiss Golf Lounges in Greifensee, Horgen, Spreitenbach and Gossau all state from CHF 39.50. RUFF in Bern and Lucerne both state CHF 50 to 70. If you pick a chain, you pay the same price in different cantons, and the canton figure says little about your venue.

Time of day and season change the price

Many venues use tiers. At RUFF Bern the low time costs CHF 50 and the prime time CHF 70. The Pure Stroke Indoor Golf Lounge in Männedorf charges CHF 75 from October to May and CHF 65 in the off-season. Golf·ish in Urdorf states CHF 68, and CHF 45 from May to August. At Golfflix in Adliswil the bay costs CHF 60 to 80, depending on bay and weekday. When you compare venues, compare the same time of day.

Those who come often can pay less. Earlybirdie in Baden states hour packages from CHF 31.50 instead of CHF 45. At the Swiss Golf Lounge a membership saves you up to 30 % on all TrackMan bookings, and the venues state from CHF 27.30. From when a subscription pays off is covered in Simulator subscription or single hour.

The price is per bay, not per person

An hour is usually booked for the whole bay. All Out Golf says: "Buche die komplette Anlage stundenweise. Bringe bis zu 5 Freunde ohne Aufpreis mit", that is, book the whole facility by the hour and bring up to five friends at no extra charge (All Out Golf). Earlybirdie in Baden states that the hourly price does not depend on the number of players. Some venues charge extra for additional players. How many people fit in a bay and what extra players cost is in How many people fit in a bay. For you that means: divide the bay price by the number of players.

Hourly price of the bayAloneTwo peopleFour people
Ticino, CHF 35CHF 35CHF 17.50CHF 8.75
Aargau, CHF 45CHF 45CHF 22.50CHF 11.25
Swiss median, CHF 50CHF 50CHF 25CHF 12.50
Zurich, CHF 60CHF 60CHF 30CHF 15

Four people in Aargau therefore pay CHF 11.25 each, in Zurich CHF 15. Alone, the hour costs as much as the bay. How this works out for companies and groups is shown in Company event in a golf simulator.

And the other cantons?

In ten more cantons exactly one venue states an hourly price that the rule reads. A median of one value is not a median, so they are listed one by one: Basel-Landschaft CHF 50, Basel-Stadt CHF 55, Fribourg CHF 60, Geneva CHF 60, Glarus CHF 50, Neuchâtel CHF 45, Schaffhausen CHF 55, Solothurn CHF 50, Thurgau CHF 60 and Uri CHF 40. In Jura Golf Indoor Moutier states CHF 40 per hour, but also subscription prices, so the line does not count. The 110 indoor venues stand in 21 cantons.

What this means for you

Work with the venue, not with the canton. An example: four friends play two hours a month. At the Zurich median that costs CHF 120, so CHF 30 per person. At the Ticino median it is CHF 70, so CHF 17.50 per person, at the Swiss median CHF 100, so CHF 25. The spread inside a canton is often wider than the difference between cantons. So read the price of the venue you can reach, and ask about the time you come. What golf costs otherwise is in What golf costs in Switzerland, and an hour with a pro in What a golf lesson costs. A bay can also be given as a gift, see Golf gifts with a real price.

Frequently asked questions

What does an hour of indoor golf cost in Switzerland?

A median of CHF 50 per bay and hour. 80 of the 110 indoor venues in the directory state a clear hourly price, between CHF 25 and 99 (as of 2 October 2026). The price covers the whole bay, not each person.

Which canton has the cheapest indoor golf?

Among the cantons with at least three prices, Ticino has the lowest median, CHF 35 from four venues, followed by Aargau at CHF 45. Zurich and Zug are at CHF 60. With so few venues, a single entry moves the median.

Do I pay the hourly price per person or per bay?

Per bay. At All Out Golf you book the whole facility by the hour and bring up to 5 friends at no extra charge. Four people split the hour at the median of CHF 50 into CHF 12.50 each, alone you pay CHF 50.

Why does the price vary so much inside one canton?

Because time of day, season, technology and operator all play a part. In Zurich the entry prices run from CHF 35 to 79. RUFF Bern charges CHF 50 at low time and CHF 70 at prime time. Chains such as Earlybirdie state CHF 45 in several cantons.

Where do I find the price of my venue?

On the directory's price page, the venues that state an hourly price appear with the operator's price and a link to the venue page. The figures are the operators' statements. Before you book, check the venue's own page, because time of day and season change the price.
