At most Swiss venues, four people may use one bay at the same time. Of the 110 indoor venues in the directory, 61 state a number of people for the bay, and 53 of them say four. The hourly price mostly covers the whole bay, not each person. Venues price per head mainly for events and courses.

What the entries say

On 2 October 2026 I read the entries of the 110 indoor venues: the fields on groups, price and description. The wording differs: "at most", "designed for", "one to four people at the same price" or "recommended". I counted the highest number an entry gives for one bay. For the other 49 venues there is no number. That does not mean they admit any number of people. Ask before you book.

Why four: one hits, the others wait

In a bay one person hits at a time while the others watch. The FUN4YOU Golf Lounge in Baden puts it this way: the lounge is designed for up to four people who take turns at the simulator. The Swiss Golf Lounge writes in its terms: "Eine einzelne Anlage darf höchstens von vier Personen gleichzeitig bespielt werden", a single bay may be played by at most four people at a time (Swiss Golf Lounge, terms). At the Spreitenbach site it recommends two to three. RUFF recommends "eine maximale Teilnehmerzahl von 4 Personen pro Simulator", a maximum of 4 people per simulator (RUFF, FAQ).

L'Indoor in Geneva gives two numbers. The TrackMan can take up to 8 players at the same time, but 4 are more comfortable for a round of 18 holes (L'Indoor). With four people, each one gets a turn only at every fourth shot. More people mean more waiting.

More than four: where six and eight apply

The terms of RUFF Bern allow up to six people at one bay, with four still recommended (RUFF Bern, terms). At Millennium in Crissier the room holds up to 6 people at the same time, and more than 6 per reservation are not allowed (Millennium). The page notes that reservations are reserved for players with a licence. All Out Golf includes up to 6 people in the price (All Out Golf). In Verbier the slot covers up to 2 people at CHF 100, and up to 6 additional players pay CHF 20 each per hour.

At the lower end are XL Green Screen Golf with one to two players and Indoor Golf Valais: at most 3 people, and the bay is set up for right-handers only (Indoor Golf Valais). That is also something you want to know beforehand.

Per bay or per person?

For a normal hour the price mostly applies per bay. Eight entries state explicitly that it does not depend on the number of people: Earlybirdie in Baden and in Chur, Golfzone in Sion, Casa Molina in Camischolas, Indoorgolf Sursee, Albatross in Langenthal, ABR Golf and Zurich Golf. Others charge extra for additional players:

VenueIncluded in the priceAdditional person
Golfflix in Adliswil4 players per bayCHF 5
RUFF Lucernerecommended at most fourco-players without a pass CHF 10 per visit
Performance Center Crans-Montanaup to four playersvisitors CHF 10 per additional person

Alpine Golf in Verbierup to 2 people, CHF 100up to 6 more at CHF 20 each per hour

Golf-Fit in Puidoux2 or 3 hours: up to 4 peoplefor one hour from 2 people a CHF 30 surcharge

The price per bay and hour has a median of CHF 50, different by canton, as Indoor golf prices by canton shows. For four people that is CHF 12.50 each.

Events and courses price per person

For courses and events the price is often per head. These figures come from the entries:

VenueFormatPrice per person
Fabrice Favre Golf Training Centergroup lesson for 2 to 4 people, one hourCHF 50
NextGolf in Pieterlenworkshop for 4 to 6 people, 50 minutesCHF 40
Swiss Golf LoungeEvent Small, 2 bays for 2 hours, up to 8 people, no coachfrom CHF 40
Birdie Amigos Golf ClubGolf with aperitif, 15 to 25 people, 2 hoursCHF 35, minimum price CHF 525
Impact GolfDécouverte Golf, 5 to 15 people, 2 hours with introductionfrom CHF 55

A comparison: eight people on two bays for two hours are four bay-hours, at the median CHF 200 or CHF 25 per person. For eight people the Small package costs from 8 times CHF 40, so from CHF 320. Ask what is in the package before you compare. More on costs and format is in Company event in a golf simulator.

How big a group can be

For more than four people you need several bays or the whole venue. 42 of the 110 indoor venues have two or more bays, 15 have four or more, and the largest has nine. The entries give these upper limits for groups:

Group up toVenue and statement in the entry
8 peopleteam events at Earlybirdie in Aarau, Baden and Chur
12 peopleBirdie Golf Toggenburg in Neu St. Johann
15 or 16 peopleACM Indoor Golf Centre in Buchs (15), Indoorgolf Sursee (16)
20 peopleIndoorgolf Rotkreuz
30 peopleGolf Indoor La Vallée in Le Brassus, private room at Zurich Golf
50 peopleSwiss Golf Lounge in Spreitenbach and Gossau, Bogey Club in Marin-Epagnier
80 or 250 peopleGolf Range Mägenwil (8 to 80), Lifestyle Golf in Chur (up to 250)

The numbers apply to events, not to a bay. At Mägenwil the driving range belongs to the venue, at Chur an area of 650 m². If you come with children or a mixed group, Indoor mini golf or golf simulator offers a comparison, and what comes closest to Topgolf groups in Switzerland is in Topgolf in Switzerland.

How big is a bay?

The Bogey Club in Marin-Epagnier has two bays of 18 m² each on 240 m², where up to four people play per bay. Millennium in Crissier has a private room of 80 m² for up to 6 people. ABR Golf in Le Mont-sur-Lausanne shows a projection surface of 4.5 by 3 metres on about 100 m² and admits 1 to 4 players at the same price. How high and deep a room must be for the swing is in Golf simulator: room height and dimensions.

What this means for you

  • Up to four people: One bay is enough and you split the price. Plan three to four hours for four golfers, as Earlybirdie in Aarau recommends. For one or two people a double hour is enough for 18 holes, according to Golf Corner in Basel.
  • Five to eight people: Book two bays if the venue has two, or a venue with room for six or eight. For six people on two bays the hour costs CHF 100 at the median, so CHF 16.67 per person.
  • More than eight: Ask for an event. Give the date, the number of people and whether rental clubs, food or a pro should be part of it.

How long a round takes outdoors is in How long does a round of golf take. A bay also works as a gift for a group, see Golf gifts with a real price.
