Indoor golf trial hour and taster hour: free, free introduction and prices — post image

Only one of the 110 indoor venues in the directory explicitly names a free trial hour: G&S Golfindoor in Turtmann. On its price page the trial game of 1 hour is free, after that an hour costs CHF 40. The Migros Golf Academy calls the introduction for the indoor Trackman at its golf parks free of charge, and Indoorgolf Ennetsee in Rotkreuz offers one on request. If you want to start with a pro, there are paid taster and introduction formats, mostly for groups, from CHF 30 per person. The date is 2 October 2026, and offers change: ask before you go.

Is there a free trial hour in indoor golf?

Rarely. I searched the entries of the 110 indoor venues for trial hour, trial game, free hour and similar words (as of 2 October 2026, our own entries). Exactly one entry names a free trial hour. At 29 venues the entry mentions a taster course or an introduction, and at 8 of them it says taster course or taster visit. At 22 of those 29 it appears in the details on groups and company events.

The three words do not mean the same thing in the entries:

Venues with a free trial hour or a free introduction

Four entries come closest to what you are looking for. Only the first names a free trial hour.

G&S Golfindoor, Turtmann VStrial game of 1 hour, free1 hour CHF 40
Indoorgolf Ennetsee, Rotkreuz ZGintroduction of 30 minutes free on request, according to the entryCHF 60 per hour
Golfpark Moossee, Münchenbuchsee BEintroduction of 25 minutes by a pro, a condition for the indoor TrackmanCHF 50 per hour
Golfpark Waldkirch, Waldkirch SGthe same introduction of 25 minutesCHF 50 per hour

The trial game in Turtmann is on the studio's price page. On the booking page it asks you to call before the first appointment, so that it can show and explain everything to you. It is open daily from 7 to 22.

At the Migros golf parks a pro explains the basics of the indoor Trackman in 25 minutes, and only after that can the simulator be booked. The Migros Golf Academy calls the introduction courses free of charge and books them through PC Caddie. If the date does not suit, a half private lesson of 25 minutes also works, and up to four people then do the introduction together. Our entries for Moossee and Waldkirch, however, name CHF 10 per person for the introduction. The two statements do not match. What counts is what you see when you book.

Taster and introduction offers with a price

For groups the prices are clearer. Three venues name a price for a guided introduction:

VenueOfferPrice
Golf Indoor Broye, Payerne VDintroduction with a pro, 1 to 6 people on one simulatorCHF 120
Golf Indoor Broye, Payerne VDintroduction with a pro, 1 to 6 people on two simulatorsCHF 200
Golf Indoor Broye, Payerne VDintroduction with a pro, 7 to 16 peopleCHF 30 per person
Impact Golf, Collombey-Muraz VS«Découverte Golf»: 2 hours with a 30-minute introduction and soft drinks, 5 to 15 peoplefrom CHF 55 per person
Andermatt Golf Course, Andermatt URtaster course of 2 hours for groups, clubs and companies, up to 12 participantsCHF 500 per group

In Payerne an aperitif for CHF 15 or a meal for CHF 30 per person can be added (Golf Indoor Broye, the page is in French). The price for 1 to 6 people falls per head with every person who joins: with 6 people it is CHF 20. In Andermatt, with 12 participants, it is about CHF 42 per person.

Taster courses where you have to ask for the price

Some entries name a taster course but no price:

  • ALBATROSS Indoor Golf in Langenthal BE names individual and group taster courses for the very first time on its own page.
  • Union Sport in Münchenstein BL: according to its page the Swiss PGA pros offer taster courses, private lessons and the Platzreife. The simulator costs CHF 50 per hour.
  • Engadin Golf Center in Samedan GR offers taster courses for groups and companies by arrangement, registration by e-mail.
  • Golf Pro Müller in Alvaneu Bad GR: according to its FAQ the taster course can also be booked as a group course.
  • Sportcenter Vogt in Lostorf SO: taster visits are possible, first-time visitors phone beforehand.

Ask for the price before you book, and ask what it includes.

What a first hour costs when it is not free

80 of the 110 indoor venues name an hourly price, between CHF 25 and 99, with a median of CHF 50 per bay (as of 2 October 2026, our own entries). Up to four people share a bay, for example at ALBATROSS in Langenthal, at Impact Golf in Collombey-Muraz or at Lifestyle Golf in Chur. That gives the sum for a first hour:

SumPricePeopleper person
hour at the median of the entriesCHF 501CHF 50
the same hour, the bay sharedCHF 504CHF 12.50
trial game in Turtmannfree1CHF 0
introduction with a pro in PayerneCHF 1206CHF 20

Even without an offer a first hour can be shared. How it goes and what you bring is in What to bring to your first simulator hour, and whether a subscription pays off afterwards is in Simulator subscription or single hour.

How to ask for an offer

  • Read the venue's entry first. It says whether it names a trial hour, an introduction or a taster course.
  • Call before the first appointment if the venue wants you to. G&S Golfindoor asks for it. In Lostorf first-time visitors phone beforehand because access runs through a key card. In Moutier you get an access code after a short introduction.
  • Ask whether a pro is there, how long it lasts and what the price includes.
  • Ask about rental clubs. What the venue provides is in the entry and in this post.
  • Check the date. The information in this post applies to 2 October 2026.

Trying it without a trial hour: Open Doors and the range

The clubs' taster course is free too. Swiss Golf calls it Open Doors: free taster courses under the supervision of a qualified golf teacher, registration directly with the club. In 2025 there were 139 such courses with 2,545 participants (Swiss Golf). They take place on the course, not in the simulator. The overview is in Golf taster course in Switzerland.

A range can also be tested cheaply. At Golfpark Moossee the use of the driving range is free, including Trackman Range. You pay for a ball card, once, CHF 10, and 20 balls cost CHF 3.50 (Moossee tariffs). How ranges work is explained in Driving ranges in Switzerland.

What this means for you

If you only want to know whether you like golf, the trial game in Turtmann is the free option in the directory, and the clubs' Open Doors are the free option on the course. If you want someone to explain the venue, the introductions at the Migros golf parks and at Indoorgolf Ennetsee are the places to ask. If you come as a group, the group prices of CHF 20 to 42 per person are worth comparing. If you start late, Starting golf at 50 or 60 has the numbers, and if you want to play without a membership, Golf without a Platzreife and without a membership does. What a pro charges per hour outside the simulator is compared in What a golf lesson costs in Switzerland.

Find a venue with an offer

Golf simulator for beginners walks you through the first visit, the map shows the venues by canton, and under indoor golf training you find the venues with coaching where you can ask for a taster hour with a pro. The offers change, so the venue's entry counts and, where there is one, its price page.
