Paying for indoor golf in Switzerland: TWINT, card, cash and invoice, what the listings say
22 venues name TWINT, 26 the credit card, 9 cash and 9 invoice. For 68 of 110 the information is missing. What the listings say and what to clarify before you book.

For 42 of the 110 indoor venues in the directory, the listing says how you can pay. The method named most often is the credit card (26 venues), then TWINT (22), the debit card (12), cash (9) and invoice (9). For the other 68 venues the information is missing. That does not mean something is not accepted there, only that the listing does not say. Here is what the listings name (as of 2 October 2026) and what to clarify before you book.
Which payment methods the listings name
I queried the field for payment methods across all 110 indoor venues. A listing can name several methods, so the numbers add up to more than 42. The percentages refer to the 42 venues with an entry.
| Payment method in the listing | Venues | Share of the 42 with an entry |
|---|---|---|
| Credit card | 26 | 62 % |
| TWINT | 22 | 52 % |
| Debit card | 12 | 29 % |
| Cash | 9 | 21 % |
| Invoice | 9 | 21 % |
| Apple Pay | 2 | 5 % |
| Google Pay | 2 | 5 % |
21 listings name exactly one method, 10 name two, 5 name three, 5 name four and one names six. Where only one is given, that is what the listing says, not a ban on everything else. The Swiss National Bank now surveys the population about its habits annually. For 2025 it states: the debit card remains the most used payment method for payments on site, followed by cash and payment apps.
TWINT: where it works and what you need
22 indoor venues name TWINT, spread over eight cantons. Zurich and Aargau lead the list. If you play in Valais, Vaud or Basel, you find two each. Which venues lie in your canton is shown by the canton overview and the map.
| Canton | Venues with TWINT in the listing |
|---|---|
| Zurich | 7 |
| Aargau | 5 |
| Basel-Stadt | 2 |
| St. Gallen | 2 |
| Vaud | 2 |
| Valais | 2 |
| Bern | 1 |
| Zug | 1 |
TWINT says on its site that more than 6 million people pay with it (TWINT, at the checkout). At the till you scan the QR code on the terminal or on the sticker. TWINT advises you to look out for the code or simply ask whether you can pay with TWINT. That applies at a venue too: ask before you set off.
For visitors from outside it matters that, according to TWINT, payments work only in francs and only at businesses in Switzerland (TWINT, paying abroad). The prepaid app is open with a number from Switzerland, Germany, Liechtenstein or Austria if you also live there (TWINT, prepaid app). If you travel in from another country, plan on a card or cash.
When only TWINT is in the listing
Seven listings name only TWINT. That is what the listing says, not proof that no card works there. If you do not have TWINT, write or call beforehand:
| Venue | Town | Canton |
|---|---|---|
| Golf Factory Aarburg | Aarburg | Aargau |
| Golfschmiede Rheinfelden | Rheinfelden | Aargau |
| Golfpark Moossee | Münchenbuchsee | Bern |
| Indoor Golf Club Yverdon | Montagny-près-Yverdon | Vaud |
| Golfzone Indoor | Uvrier (Sion) | Valais |
| studiogolf | Zurich | Zurich |
| The Golf Room | Zurich | Zurich |
Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay
26 listings name the credit card, 12 the debit card. Whoever names the debit card also names the credit card; there is no listing with the debit card alone. At 14 venues the credit card is named without the debit card. If you carry only a debit card, ask beforehand. On the cases in which a payment method did not work, the National Bank writes: the debit card was the method most often affected by the restrictions.
Apple Pay and Google Pay are named by exactly two listings, both together: the FUN4YOU Golf Lounge in Baden and the Birdie Amigos Golf Club in Basel. The others say nothing about it. Again, a missing entry is not a refusal.
Paying cash: as the main way and as a reserve
Nine listings name cash. Two name only cash: XL Green Screen Golf in Frauenkappelen and the Pure Stroke Indoor Golf Lounge in Männedorf. With cash in your pocket you are on the safe side there. Cash also helps as a reserve. The National Bank reports for 2025: in about half of the acceptance restrictions and technical faults, people switched to cash. Some cash in your wallet helps in case the terminal fails.
On invoice: for companies and groups
Nine listings name invoice, spread over seven cantons. Five of them say only “invoice”. Whether the invoice is open to private persons, from what amount and with what deadline, is in no listing. For a company event you give the billing address in the request anyway; the details are in A company event in the golf simulator.
| Venue | Town | Canton | Payment methods in the listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| ALBATROSS Indoor Golf | Langenthal | Bern | Invoice |
| Golf Club Thunersee | Thun | Bern | Credit card, invoice |
| Birdie Amigos Golf Club | Basel | Basel-Stadt | Credit card, debit card, TWINT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, invoice |
| Golf Meggen | Meggen | Lucerne | Invoice |
| ACM Indoor Golf Centre | Buchs SG | St. Gallen | TWINT, credit card, debit card, invoice |
| Golf365 | Wil | St. Gallen | Invoice |
| TISHOT Indoor Golf | Minusio | Ticino | Credit card, invoice |
| G&S Golfindoor | Turtmann | Valais | Invoice |
| Players Playground | Thalwil | Zurich | Invoice |
PostFinance set 30 September 2022 as the end of the red and orange payment slips, and the successors are the QR-bill and eBill (Swiss Banking). According to the National Bank, when paying invoices online banking is the preferred payment method. TWINT users can also scan a QR-bill with the app (TWINT, QR-bill).
What this means for you: a worked example
A bay costs a median of CHF 50 per hour (80 venues state an hourly price, as of 2 October 2026). If four of you come, that is CHF 12.50 per person. One person pays at the till by card, the other three send them CHF 12.50 each. Sending money to other TWINT users works, according to TWINT (TWINT, sending money). If your company pays, the whole bay goes on one invoice, provided the venue offers invoicing.
Before you book, this order helps:
- Open the venue's listing and look at the payment methods.
- If the information is missing, which is the case at 68 of 110 venues, ask by mail or phone.
- If you have only TWINT or only a debit card, ask beforehand whether it works.
- Take some cash along as a reserve.
- For a company: give the billing address in the request.
Paying in advance is another route: how a voucher works as a gift is in Golf gifts with a real price, and what a subscription or a ten-hour block brings against a single hour is in Simulator subscription or single hour. What else you bring to the hour is shown in What to bring to your first simulator hour, and what a lesson with a pro costs in What a golf lesson costs in Switzerland.
Next in the directory
The hourly prices of the venues are on golf simulator prices, and the map shows the venues near you. For a group or a company, golf simulator events is worth a look. The page of each venue lists the payment methods as far as they are known.
