Toptracer and TrackMan Range: Switzerland's 16 driving ranges with ball-flight tracking

Ball-flight tracking is not confined to the simulator room. On 16 Swiss driving ranges every bay measures the ball — with Toptracer or TrackMan Range — and shows flight, carry and game formats on a screen. That is not indoor golf, but it is the same technology under open sky, which is why these ranges are in the directory, clearly labelled as driving ranges.

Toptracer or TrackMan Range?

Both systems follow the ball on the range and deliver distance, flight and games such as nearest-to-the-pin or virtual courses on the bay's screen. Toptracer works with cameras along the range, TrackMan Range with radar; for a golfer the everyday difference is small — both show where the ball landed. The technology pages Toptracer and TrackMan list every venue with each system.

What a range costs

Unlike a simulator, a range is paid per basket of balls rather than per hour — mostly CHF 3 to CHF 7 for 20 to 30 balls, at some venues with a one-off ball card or a range fee for guests. Each venue's own wording is in its line above and on its page.
